In particular, only the ruins of the old mill remain today, but in the past, the water, through successive “trabocchi” and passing through little waterfalls and weirs, used to power the millstones that ground flour for the population of Montecarotto and Poggio San Marcello, and beyond: it was a place of great importance in the pre-industrial centuries for the local population.
