Church of Sant’Angelo
The Church of Sant'Angelo (or Saint Michael) is a small chapel of modest artistic pretensions, built in masonry around 1881.
It consists of a single, modest room whose dimensions are approximately 4 meters by 5 meters.
Currently, although it appears to be in fair condition, it is no longer used, as the presence of worshippers in the location where it is situated has steadily decreased.

Details
The Church of Sant’Angelo, located in Poggio San Marcello (AN), is a small but charming subsidiary church that represents an important spiritual landmark for the local community. With an intimate and secluded atmosphere, the church stands out for its historical and architectural value, embodying the religious traditions of the area. It is an ideal place for those who wish to immerse themselves in the culture and spirituality of the Marche region, appreciating the quietness and beauty that surround it.
- Exterior
- The small chapel is characterized by a simple, small-sized façade that ends with a triangular pediment at the summit of which a cross is positioned. The only openings present are the very simple wooden entrance door and, directly above it, a semicircular window whose diameter corresponds to the width of the door. The roof has two pitches (or a double-pitched roof), covered in terracotta roof tiles (coppi). The entire volume is painted a light color, with the exception of the corner elements of the façade which are made of exposed bricks. Symmetrically positioned on either side of the entrance are two benches, made using two marble slabs for the seat and a few bricks as supports.
