Porta Del Soccorso
Details
Porta del Soccorso is one of the historic entrances to the village of Poggio San Marcello, built in 1641 to facilitate access to the town and strengthen its defenses. Located along the curtain wall, this gate is easily recognizable thanks to the presence of the Coat of Arms of the Municipality of Jesi, testifying to the administrative and historical link between the two locations.
Crossing this evocative gate, visitors are welcomed into a charming historic center, where the medieval charm can be felt among narrow alleys, ancient architecture, and panoramic views. Once a strategic point for the security of the village, today Porta del Soccorso represents an open window to the past, an invitation to discover the authentic history and beauty of Poggio San Marcello.
