Uh – An art collection for ten days

From July 31st to August 9th, 2026, the village of Poggio San Marcello will host POGGIOCULTURA, a widespread multidisciplinary festival that for ten days turns the town’s streets, squares, and historic sites into a vibrant artistic and cultural hub.

This year’s edition centers around the evocative theme “Strade e Radici” (“Roads and Roots”), inviting reflection on travel, discovery, knowledge, and the deep connection to the land. The program offers a rich immersion into contemporary and performing arts: art exhibitions featuring painting, sculpture, photography, and installations will unfold along the entire town itinerary—including the Santa Croce Gallery, the Poggetto, the Town Hall, and the ancient crypts.

Every evening, the historic center comes alive with a wide variety of live performances, ranging from folk and classical music concerts (such as the performance by the Banda L’Aurora and the traditional organ concert) to theatrical plays, poetry readings, and breathtaking aerial acrobatics shows. Significant space is also dedicated to visual arts, featuring short film screenings, documentaries on local history, open-air cinema nights, and a music video contest aimed at young participants.

The festival encourages active participation through numerous workshops open to both children and adults. Visitors can try their hand at printmaking, watercolor painting, mosaic art (aimed at the artistic restoration of the town hall), animated film production, and special events like a Graphology Open Day. To complete the event, there will be in-depth panel discussions on contemporary art in collaboration with local museums, as well as the traditional community dinner hosted by the Pro Loco to celebrate local conviviality.

The event is organized by the Municipality of Poggio San Marcello and the European Cultural Exchange Association, under the patronage of the Municipalities of Montecarotto and Trecastelli and the Marche Region, in cooperation with the Vallesina Integrated System “Borghi della Cultura”.
