SANTARELLI WINERY
Located in Poggio San Marcello, among the hills of the Marche region at an altitude of 350 meters, Sartarelli is a small gem steeped in the tradition of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico.
It is one of the few Italian wineries to practice mono-varietal production, focused exclusively on Verdicchio, an indigenous grape variety valued with care and dedication.
The estate covers about 55 hectares of vineyards and 6 hectares of olive groves (2,300 olive trees), which overlook the slopes of historic districts such as Coste del Molino, Tralivio, and Balciana.
Sartarelli’s philosophy is based on respect for the territory and its roots: the vineyard is managed with low environmental impact agriculture, utilizing natural meadows to prevent erosion and preserve the organic matter in the soil.
The care extends to the harvest: practiced entirely by hand, with differentiated picking in multiple passes according to the type of wine—from Brut to Passito—to select only the best bunches.
The company has gained international prestige, particularly thanks to Balciana 1997, which was awarded the Italian White Trophy and the White Wine Trophy as the best white wine in the world at the “International Wine Challenge” in London.
The Sartarelli family, now led by Donatella and Patrizio with their children, works together, believing in the value of teamwork: no one is more important than another, and common passion sustains every challenge.
